HOT ROLING MILLS
RIGID    STURDY    ROBUST

Complete Hot Rolling Mills are of Two Types:

a) Bars

MULTI STRAND SLIT ROLLING
The dogbone, slit, finishing stands rolled through ‘Size Stabiliser Housing less Stands’, through multi strand ‘Controlled Cooling Bar Tempering system’, cut by ‘Wide Blade Flying Shear’ conveyed & braking through ‘ Lifting Apron Type entry roller table & ‘ Walking Beam Cooling Bed’ with inbuilt ‘Layer transfer system’

Advantage
15% Power saving for slit sizes, since the cross section area rolled is in multiple of strands.
Fuel saving, as the furnace discharge temperature can be reduced by 40degC, as speed of rolling in roughing & intermediate stands is higher, the material gets heated during rolling.
Four nos. less nos. of total stands for four slit, Less roll consumption per ton.

160 mm Roll Neck Four Slit Housingless Mill Stand

HIGH SPEED FINISH ROLLING
Increasing the Rolling Speed of 8 & 10mm TMT bar 22m/s, cutting by ‘High Speed Continuously Rotating Flying Shear’, speed braking by Tail braking system with ‘Two Speed drives’ into the ‘Bar Receiving Twin Channel System’, dropping bar onto Walking Beam Cooling Bed’ with inbuilt ‘Layer transfer system’

HIGH SPEED
CONTINUOUS
ROTATING SHEAR
to cut 8 mm at 24 m/s,
12 mm at 14 m/s

Installed at Four Mills.

BAR RECEIVING TWIN CHANNEL
Installed at six mills in Nigeria.
Installed at Fourteen Mills in India.

CONTROLLED COOLING, BAR TEMPERING SYSTEM
Installed at Ten Mills in India and Four Mills overseas.

b) Section
HOT SAW
FIXED OR TRAVELING TYPE

The Hot Saw is placed before the cooling bed to cut the rolled sections to the required lengths.

One no Fixed Hot saw is placed before the cooling bed to cut the front end of the sections

Traveling Hot saw is placed at a distance from the Fixed Saw. The distance can be adjusted equal to the travel of the Hot saw along the axis of rolling. Number of traveling Hot saw required depends on the length of the rolled section & the number of cuts required along the length of the section

The rolled section is gripped on the run out roller table.

The Hot saw Blade of the Fixed & traveling Saw, plunges at right angle to the rolling axis cutting the section at the front end as well as at the required lengths by Traveling hot saw

After cutting the grip is released and the cut section is delivered on the cooling bed.

Advantage : Because of the sliding type saw, heavier sections can be cut with better straightness compared to pendulum type saw.
