Helical Gear Box
Helical gearboxes are engineered for applications with high shock loads and continuous duty, such as rolling mills and heavy industrial drives. Housings for small and medium sizes are made from fabricated steel plates of SAIL only, with generously ribbed stress zones to resist distortion under dynamic loading.
Key Design Highlights:
• Heat-treated internals (approx. 300 BHN pinions, 260 BHN gears) prior to tooth cutting
• Shaft extensions with deep axial holes and provision for hydraulic extraction of bearings and couplings
• We use only SKF / FAG / NTN bearings in our machinery and gearboxes.
• External heat exchangers and forced lubrication options where required
• Accurate shaft end tolerances and positive oil flow to bearings in either direction of rotation
Typical applications: automotive auxiliaries, steel plants, rolling mills.
